I have the opportunity...

As many know I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints at the age of 19. Since I was in college I went straight into Relief Society. I loved the friendships it brought to my life, but I knew there was stuff i missed, when we sang primary songs and women spoke about their Young women awards. I quickly forgot about that and just thought I would probably have the experience through my kids. Well I was wrong I will get to experience some of it NOW. For the past 3 years I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve in the Young Women's program, I have been in the presidency and the past two years I have been an Adviser. I have also been working on my personal progress

So For two years in a row I was a camp director for our ward and I was able to experience so many great things. I have made great friends and got to know my girls so well. I loved all the activities and the wonderful spirit that was always there.

This year I got to go to Youth Conference! Oh I loved it! we had a lot of fun with the girls! There were some great seminars about Temple Marriage/ Sexually pure, Testimony of HF, Dating, and Cursing. All the presentations were done very well and the kids were entertained and seemed to be involved through out.

I am so thankful to have the gospel in my life and have faith in Heavenly Father to know what I need in my life and giving the blessings to be part of the programs I missed growing up.

A new hobby

So I have wanted to start this hobby since last year, but just never had the free time. So now that I have a lot of time on my hands I have taken the time to be creative with CANDY! Since EVERYONE I know is pregnant, I have made candy for the showers.
The first batch were suckers and turned out pretty good! Everyone loved them. This next batch I just made single candies. They turned out pretty good as well. So I am exited to make these. They are time consuming, but hey I have plenty of that on my hands!

Freedom Fest

Well this year for the Independence Holiday we celebrated on July 1st at the Base's Freedom Fest. We went with the family I babysit for and had so much fun! They had plenty of jumping castles and a paintball arena, and plenty of food.
Since this is a four day weekend for CJ we were glad to be able to go have some fun, but since he has to work early Tuesday morning we wont be able to see fire works on the Fourth.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY!

Latest Crafts

Here a few things I have been working on.
This first one was very simple and low cost to help make my living room a more homie feeling. Total cost $15.25. Each panel cost $5 and then the hinges were $0.25. Where would you find such a deal... At the Habitat for Humanity resale store, I find all sorts of great stuff there!

Then my second project was my ribbon wreath. I needed a patriotic one. I really like making these. Thanks April for the idea!

Touring South Carolina

Well this past weekend CJ and I went to find more things to do in Charleston. Well we found the City Marina and then we toured around downtown. I love all the great architectural work on the buildings and houses. We just love having the weekends to tootle around! These first pictures are a squirrel that keeps eating the bird food we put out.

This si the price one boat had to pay, it is on the Mega Dock, so it was probably a big boat.

What a sad, but happy time!

This past week I found out that my estranged grandfather on my dad's side of the family passed away. It was a sad moment, but it was hard to know what to feel. When I was about 5 or 6 he divorced my Grandma and moved back to Ohio, unfortunatly he burned just about every bridge with family before going. During the past 20 years, him and I have wrote back and forth. I hadn't heard form him for about 5 years and then I recieved a Christmas card about two years ago. Then it stopped again.

Well come to find out he was battling cancer and then about a week and a half ago he died from a heart attack.

Over the sad now and on to the happy, since my Grandpa's obituary was in the newspaper, I signed the online book and have had relatives I did not know contact me. I have been able to hear some of my history and get to see some great pictures. I can't wait to get more information from him and start a journal for it.
So here are some pictures:
Ok so this is my Fathers side of the family on my Great Grandma's Side.

This first picture is all my great aunts and uncles. The tall skinny one upfront is Uncle Eddie which is who my dad was named after and where my brother Eddie got his height from. This picture is my great great great Grandpa who served in WWl in France.
