Easter @ Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens held a free day for the families of the USS Truman.  We had not gone yet so why not try it out.
The day started off with some drizzle, but it became a great day.

The park had an "egg hunt" which for the little guys since it was raining was just a basket and some eggs. We went with another family and went to Sesame Street (since they were all under 6) to play.
Lil' Man loved playing on all the cool things.

Welcome Home Sailor!!

April 18 2014 was a great day to enjoy a beautiful Homecoming of the USS Harry S Truman!
The USS Truman left in July of 2013, but thankfully CJ didn't join till September 3 2013.
We missed him more than I thought was possible.

Here is our day in pictures...
We arrived at the dock just in time to watch the ship come in

We loved seeing the Sailors on the rail especially when they called Liberty and every one of them started waving and trying to find their families, but CJ is not up there.

Waiting in the cold, but we loved every minute!

Since my husband is a Nuclear Mechanic he had to help shut down the power plant before he could get off, so we had a 3 hour wait AFTER the ship pulled in. So we watched all the beautiful reunions and then had some lunch on the pier. After that we went back to the car for a nap.

FINALLY! I got a phone call from Hubby and he was ready to go, we didn't have the TV reunion but it was so GOOD to see him!!

Our first family picture was in the car..

Yes my sign is correct and well maybe even more emails were sent than I counted. We tried to stay in contact every day whether it was just an email or picture from me. I am pretty sure CJ could watch Lil' Man grow through pictures and videos!

Want to Play Catch Up?

Oh goodness I have not posted in forever and well A LOT has gone on!
February, Oh man!first we were able to attend the beautiful wedding ceremony for my youngest brother. We had a great day and added a wonderful young woman to our ever growing Crazy family!

Then we celebrated Lil' Man's First birthday (Ha, actually posted that), but then we had to say goodbye to all our family. The worst!
I miss being able to go shopping with my parents or spend the day hanging out with my mom-in-law and sister-in-law and all the cousins.

So then my mom and I packed up my Pathfinder with ALL the toys and clothes we collected over the four months and two dogs and a baby and hit the road for a three day, 2,300 mile and 7 state trip back to VA!  We had a great time with tons of Mother Daughter time. It was freezing in most of the states and well started frosting in TX at 4 pm and was 5 degrees in Oregon. But my mom was a trooper and we drove 15 hours our final day so we could sleep at my house in my bed!!

The next morning we found out we were going to have to stay in a guest suite for a week because my house had mold and they needed to tear out wall and floor to get rid of it.
Finally back into our house and someone had to come and fix our heater. Oy-Vey!

Now that we had gone through all of this we are finally able to get back to our routine and make some new friends.
CJ is still deployed, but we have met some more friends who are on the ship as well and made some new connections.
We are missing a few of our friends from last year, but Navy is not good at letting people stay close for to long.

So now we wait for CJ to get home...

*some pictures from our trip.
