Freedom Fest

Well this year for the Independence Holiday we celebrated on July 1st at the Base's Freedom Fest. We went with the family I babysit for and had so much fun! They had plenty of jumping castles and a paintball arena, and plenty of food.
Since this is a four day weekend for CJ we were glad to be able to go have some fun, but since he has to work early Tuesday morning we wont be able to see fire works on the Fourth.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY!

Latest Crafts

Here a few things I have been working on.
This first one was very simple and low cost to help make my living room a more homie feeling. Total cost $15.25. Each panel cost $5 and then the hinges were $0.25. Where would you find such a deal... At the Habitat for Humanity resale store, I find all sorts of great stuff there!

Then my second project was my ribbon wreath. I needed a patriotic one. I really like making these. Thanks April for the idea!

Touring South Carolina

Well this past weekend CJ and I went to find more things to do in Charleston. Well we found the City Marina and then we toured around downtown. I love all the great architectural work on the buildings and houses. We just love having the weekends to tootle around! These first pictures are a squirrel that keeps eating the bird food we put out.

This si the price one boat had to pay, it is on the Mega Dock, so it was probably a big boat.

What a sad, but happy time!

This past week I found out that my estranged grandfather on my dad's side of the family passed away. It was a sad moment, but it was hard to know what to feel. When I was about 5 or 6 he divorced my Grandma and moved back to Ohio, unfortunatly he burned just about every bridge with family before going. During the past 20 years, him and I have wrote back and forth. I hadn't heard form him for about 5 years and then I recieved a Christmas card about two years ago. Then it stopped again.

Well come to find out he was battling cancer and then about a week and a half ago he died from a heart attack.

Over the sad now and on to the happy, since my Grandpa's obituary was in the newspaper, I signed the online book and have had relatives I did not know contact me. I have been able to hear some of my history and get to see some great pictures. I can't wait to get more information from him and start a journal for it.
So here are some pictures:
Ok so this is my Fathers side of the family on my Great Grandma's Side.

This first picture is all my great aunts and uncles. The tall skinny one upfront is Uncle Eddie which is who my dad was named after and where my brother Eddie got his height from. This picture is my great great great Grandpa who served in WWl in France.

I am sad that my grandfather has passed on but I am thankful it has put me in touch with new family to learn and love!

A-School Graduation

Well the first leg in our Journey is coming to an end. CJ is officially MM3 Warren (petty Officer Third Class). To start this journey CJ had to go to school 5 days a week for 9 hours, PT 3 days a week for an hour and studies 2 hours 6 nights of the week. Any one counting how many hours a week CJ puts in? 60 Hours each week! Along with studying CJ was the Class leader and had many duties outside the class as well. He stayed in the top four throughout the semester (3 months) and Graduated with 3.57 out of 4.0 which put him third in his class! I am so proud!
