Busy May

Holy smokes there was a lot that went down in the Month of May!

Kirstie and I went to the Mermaid Factory and took a girl's day to decorate some mermaids. Norfolk is known for their Mermaids around every corner it seems like.

Then we took some time to go Strawberry picking with some great friends! Lil' Man just wanted to eat them before we got them home!

Family Time!

Then Last but not least we got A LOT of Grammie and Poppa time!
We unfortunately had to spend it with out daddy, he had an underway that took him out the entire month.

Daddy's ship finally leaving port for an underway.

Strawberry Festival, Pungo VA. We have made this a family tradition (everything Strawberry!)

April Showers bring May flowers...

April brought some interesting weather, some days were really nice and others were cold and rainy.  What ever the weather it seemed we were able to find some fun any ways!
Ward Easter Egg hunt, lil' man loved finding eggs.
When I was younger my Step mom used to make bunny cakes for Easter, so I decided I would try my hand at it.  I think it turned out pretty good.
A rainy cold day, but we found a mall and a cool play area to hang out at.  Lil' man loved the Turtle he could climb on.

Ah good old fashion child labor.  I think I posted about this stool that CJ built for Lil' man.  He loves to get it our to help with dishes and cooking.
For lil' man's birthday Grammy and Poppa Warren got him a tricycle which for a few months I just pushed for him but Lil' man decided he wanted to peddle all by himself.

Crazy weather turn to a nice and sunny day, so we took the opportunity to go to the Botanical gardens!  We love this place and try to go as often as we can.  Come summer time we should be able to play at their splash pad!

Since Hubby had some time off we took a little trip with the Waldrons down to the Outer Banks NC.  They have a great Aquarium that specializes in turtle rescue.

Another turn of the weather... We had another good rain storm and when we got back from shopping lil' man found our puddle by the back gate and at first I was being a silly mom and told him not to get wet. WHAT WAS I THINKING! Lil' man thought it was pretty awesome that he could go and jump in the puddles!!
Once again Hubby's ship did not leave the ship yard.  It was a lot of good byes just to have him call and say he was coming home the next day.  I think we drove him to the yard 5 times just to have the ship not leave!!! Here's to next month...

March Madness

March was a busy month!  I was able to take little man on an adventure down to Mississippi to see my sister and brother-in-law, but got a little side trip to see some extended family that we have not seen in years!!!

The first set of pictures was in Jackson Children's Museum.  We met my Grandparents, Aunt, and a few cousins there.  It also included two great grand kids.  Lil' man had a lot of fun playing with various parts of the Museum including and the most fun the water!

My oldest Cousin Heather and I. 2 of the 4 girl granddaughters (not very flattering pictures, but my grandmother just points and shoots).

This little guy is one of the great grand kids (forefront of the picture).
 My sister and I
Cousin Heather and her daughter Brianna and my sister and I

After our little trip up north, lil' man and I spent a week with my sister!  They are the best of buds!  He loved cuddling with her and hanging out with her!

Oh and Dusty!  We can't forget lil' man's favorite part was my sister's dog.  Those two really miss each other and Dusty goes looking for him!

On my down to Mississippi I was able to break the trip into two days and spend some time with a great friend of mine in Jacksonville FL.  I loved having a break, but on my way up I was trying to make time because Hubby had an extra day off before he was going to leave.  So it took lil' man and I 17 hours to get home.  It was a really long day!
The next picture is of lil' man sound asleep the day after our trip.  I guess it really took a lot out of him to travel all day too!

The fun did not stop there!  We were able to take a little trip to our local zoo as well.  We went with a good friend of mine and Lil' man loves her daughter.  They are so cute together!

These last pictures were for Easter Sunday.  Nana and Papa Reynolds sent lil' man a very handsome suit to wear.  He looked very dapper.

See told you it was full of stuff for us to do.  It was also a crazy work month for Hubby. His ship was suppose to get out of ship yard this month, but it never made it out.  There was to much rush on the maintenance that it was not being properly checked so it put a lot of stress on him and the rest of crew.  The ship was suppose to be out weeks ago.  Here's to next month hopefully they leave!!

Snow, Snow and MORE Snow

The end of February and beginning of March have been super cold and full of snow.  It really just dumped on us!
The first time it snowed CJ had some snow days to spend with us so we took advantage of it and went to play!

That week was full of snow and unfortunately ended up freezing our drain pipe from our furnace and we had no heat through out the house. I had to get creative and used our oven all day to keep us warm and then thankfully a family in our Church ward let us borrow their space heater and electric blanket to get us through the night.  Maintenance came 5 hours after I called it in and put a heater in with the furnace to help thaw pipes and we finally got heat 33 hours later. We never called to let them know it was back on and thought the heater would come in handy with the next storm coming. We had heat the whole time!

And then came round 2 and 3 in the same week!
My dogs thought they were snow dogs, they loved being outside. If you looked at the six backyards in our row the first four were nice and clean snow that glistened in the barely there sun. Then you look at ours and our neighbors and you can tell we have dogs and that they played hard!

We have a few Cardinals that live in the trees in our front yard. This male had been around all week and after the last thick snow he was still hanging out around the trees. Beautiful bright red!

Happy Birthday Lil' Man!

I can not believe that this year we are celebrating our little miracles 2nd birthday! Time is just flying by and he is still growing and I am not ready for all this!!!
Lil' Man at 2 is 30lbs and well all legs like his daddy! He is such a happy lil' man, he loves laughing at everything, he loves chasing the dogs around the house and loves to talk. He has a good vocabulary but it is still mixed with a lot of words I can't quite catch. He is also trying to potty train! He lets me know when he has to poo but only lets me know after he has gone pee that he has to go potty. He has facial expressions that are well true to his family. He Looks exactly like his daddy but makes grumpy faces like his Uncle Miah.  He is very lovey and gives kisses and hugs. He really likes skyping with all of the family and telling them about what he is doing. He can match colors and shapes and knows a few animal sounds. I can't wait to see his growth in the next year!

Since we had a big party for his first birthday we decided to just keep it quiet for this one and celebrate with just the family. He did get to open presents with grandparents on skype.

If you ask him to say cheese for a picture this is what you get.

Opening Presents from Nana and Papa. He loved all his books he received!

Lil' Man got a tricycle from Grammy and Poppa and he loves it. He can't quite reach the pedals but it wont be long!

My lil' Man you are growing up so fast and I fall more in love with you each and every day. Dad and I will be your number one fan for your entire life! We love you with all our hearts!!
