Conference Weekend

Over conference weekend we went up to Utah. We left Friday morning EARLY, very Early! We went up through Page and Kanab. From there we went over to Zion Canyon. It was so beautiful! I remember driving through when I was a kid, but it was nice to go through again. The only thing was that my lovely husband had a lead foot and was not going slow enough to get very many pictures. So here is what I have.

These two pictures are from inside a mile long tunnel. They were just quick shots.
The third is from below the tunnel looking up at the mountain that the tunnel was in.

Just outside the park was a little town, with a elk and bison farm. There was also a very cool tree that CJ and I climb for a couple pictures. I wouldn't have but CJ told me I couldn't climb it so I had to prove him wrong.

So the entire reason we went to Utah was to go to CJ's mission reunion, sorry no picture from that because we were an hour late because of BYU and Utah U football game. But in our two hour traffic jam we saw the moon come up over the mountains. It was huge!!

Then on Saturday we went to Conference, this is sitting at the trax station.

So Saturday night while CJ was at priesthood session the girls went shopping and well this is what we came up with and it was quite hilliorus!

On our way hone it was crazy windy and there was dust flying every where! It was a beautiful drive home, I don't think I will ever go through Las Vegas again!

Forget the roses! We painted the bathroom red!!

So one morning I was laying in bed and I rolled over to CJ and said, "HMMM I think I want to paint the bathroom." He said "Ok we will price paint and have a plan." We went to Home Depot and while there I choice the color and everything, and I guess I will just let the pictures talk!

I loved making my bathroom mine, next the outside of the house so it is not pink anymore. Probably Fall break!

Crazy Start

Well my first week in my second year is done! Yay! But it did not start out very easy!
At the end of last year because of all the budget crisis I was handed a RIF letter (Reduction in Force). Then I had to call my principal to ask if he wanted me back (I would do anything to just have a job this year), and he said yes I want you to come back as Kindergarten. Ok cool see in July. So at the end of the month I went in to get my keys, they gave them to me and I happily started to unpack and figure out what I was going to do for my classroom. Tuesday morning before I was official do back my principal calls and asks to see me in his office ASAP. School hasn't even started and already I am in trouble. Nope he wanted tot ell me my job once again is in the air. We did not have as many Kinders sign up than he had hoped, so if they did not get the numbers by the end of the week he was going to give me second grade with pretty much all the same kids from last year. So he told me to stop unpacking my room and to sit tight till Friday when he made the decision. AHHH I was pulling my hair out. I needed to start getting stuff put away and sort through them, I am crazy like that. So three days later he called up and said "Ok I am just going to have to decide, your going to second grade."
So now I have a great looking room and an awesome team to work with and well am excited to see my students progress through this year!

Now onto CJ, well it is his last year!!! We are so excited, I can't wait till I don't have to worry about my job! He is just taking nursing classes which helps with study time, but he also has to work full time just to keep his insurance. He likes where he works, but is ready to move onto bigger and better things. I am a little worried because that will probably take us to Phoenix, where he can work at a Trauma one center!

Other than that we are doing great and still just as in love as ever!

Las Vegas

Well I had never been to Las Vegas and found the chance to. My mom needed another car to take up kids to EFY in Vegas, and well I said yes, and asked Karisa to come along. Well we decided to stay there for the week!
We had alot of fun! We walked down on the strip pretty much everyday. We went to most of the casinos and looked at art, and other attractions.

We were going to go to the Temple while there, but soon found out that it was closed for parking lot repave and cleaning repairs! We were really bummed, but managed to get a couple good pictures from it!

Luckily Karisa's Parents own a timeshare and we were able to stay there. It was great, like a little condo. 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Full Kitchen (including cookware), a living room, and dining room, plus a washer and dryer. The facility also had a pool and a free shuttle down to the strip.
I enjoyed my time there with Karisa and my husband (he came up at the end of the week), but I will have to say that since I neither gamble nor drink I will probably never go back! Thank you Karisa for the great time and great place to stay!
