Quick trip to AZ

At the end of September my Great Grandpa turned 100, so I thought it would great to be able to attend his birthday party.  So Lil' Man and I jumped on a plane by ourselves and crossed the country.

He did really well especially with a little movie time.  He did complain about his ears on the way down into Phoenix but other than that he really enjoyed the ride.

When we got into town we were able to finally announce to the family that we were expecting another baby.  Everyone was shocked that we kept it a secret for the entire month.  I was shocked too! I stink at keeping secrets!
.

Then we just spent time with the family, my mom took us to the lake and then to the Out of Africa park to feed some animals
.

Then we headed to CJ's family and got a lot of cousin time in.

We even got some great professional pictures done.

Then finally we were able to attend my Great Grandpa's Birthday party.

I'm so thankful that I was able to attend his party this would be the last time I saw him before he passed away in October. I'm so blessed to have known this man and be a part of his lineage. He always knew who we were (more so by what daughter we belonged to) but he never lost that part of his memory.  He was a great patriarch in a wonderful Family.
Till we meet again Grandpa!

Camping trip

CJ had some leave he needed to use so we decided to hit the road and head north west of Richmond to do some camping.  Sadly this is the first time we have gone since we had Lil' Man. We were the only tent campers at the Natural Chimneys and we loved not having neighbors and we could run and play!

Then we headed a little bit north to the Natural Caverns! We took a tour and had so much fun discovering a great piece of nature! CJ was in aww about the entire thing and Lil' man like it for the first little bit but towards the end he was getting tired.

Our camping trip was a little eventful in the way that our mattress popped and we about froze to death the second night, but we had so much fun spending time as family and disconnecting from the world and all our worldly problems.

The best part of our trip though was that we came home to a surprise...

I was so tired and just wanted to sleep on our trip and CJ said "you might be pregnant."  I thought he was kidding but ha lo and behold we are!

Busy May

Holy smokes there was a lot that went down in the Month of May!

Kirstie and I went to the Mermaid Factory and took a girl's day to decorate some mermaids. Norfolk is known for their Mermaids around every corner it seems like.

Then we took some time to go Strawberry picking with some great friends! Lil' Man just wanted to eat them before we got them home!

Family Time!

Then Last but not least we got A LOT of Grammie and Poppa time!
We unfortunately had to spend it with out daddy, he had an underway that took him out the entire month.

Daddy's ship finally leaving port for an underway.

Strawberry Festival, Pungo VA. We have made this a family tradition (everything Strawberry!)

April Showers bring May flowers...

April brought some interesting weather, some days were really nice and others were cold and rainy.  What ever the weather it seemed we were able to find some fun any ways!
Ward Easter Egg hunt, lil' man loved finding eggs.
When I was younger my Step mom used to make bunny cakes for Easter, so I decided I would try my hand at it.  I think it turned out pretty good.
A rainy cold day, but we found a mall and a cool play area to hang out at.  Lil' man loved the Turtle he could climb on.

Ah good old fashion child labor.  I think I posted about this stool that CJ built for Lil' man.  He loves to get it our to help with dishes and cooking.
For lil' man's birthday Grammy and Poppa Warren got him a tricycle which for a few months I just pushed for him but Lil' man decided he wanted to peddle all by himself.

Crazy weather turn to a nice and sunny day, so we took the opportunity to go to the Botanical gardens!  We love this place and try to go as often as we can.  Come summer time we should be able to play at their splash pad!

Since Hubby had some time off we took a little trip with the Waldrons down to the Outer Banks NC.  They have a great Aquarium that specializes in turtle rescue.

Another turn of the weather... We had another good rain storm and when we got back from shopping lil' man found our puddle by the back gate and at first I was being a silly mom and told him not to get wet. WHAT WAS I THINKING! Lil' man thought it was pretty awesome that he could go and jump in the puddles!!
Once again Hubby's ship did not leave the ship yard.  It was a lot of good byes just to have him call and say he was coming home the next day.  I think we drove him to the yard 5 times just to have the ship not leave!!! Here's to next month...
